everything in this world is too complex to be placed into one of two categories
there is no way that someone could possibly believe that because our President is a faithful husband, that he is a successful leader...look at where he has led our country...look at how much time and money has been spent on Iraq...look how much raw emotion it conjurs up...families in agony over lost loved ones, soldiers unwillingly fighting a cause they don't believe in, students and young adults across the country in terror because they understand that this war will go on and they could be the next batch to be drafted and shipped off to Iraq
there is too many factors to look at when trying to categorize something as "black" or "white"
as for the President being faithful...why does our President have to be faitful to his wife
it is undisputable that Clinton was a better President then Bush...Clinton did not lead us into a war that will probably not see an end for a very long time, Clinton did cut funds from Education, Welfare, Social Security, and Medicare to pour money into defending this country
Yes we can all agree that 9/11 was a tragedy...yes we can all agree that we had to take action against those that attacked us...but why, I ask you, did our attacks turn against Iraq instead of finishing the job in Afghanistan? As far as i know, Saddam Hussein didn't send two aircrafts into the World Trade Center...I'm pretty sure that decision was in the hands of Osama Bin Laden...so why was it ok to let him go?
The President should be allowed to do whatever he goddamn feels like in his free time, as long as he does his fucking job, and he does it in the best interest of the people of this nation. And throwing this nation, headfirst into perpetual war IS NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF OUR PEOPLE. Allowing a great deal of people to be unemployed is not in the best interest of people. Allowing the elderly to go without Social Security and Medicare is ridiculous. Allowing those that are unable to financially support themselves sit out in the cold because you don't want to put more money into Welfare is equally absurd.
And let's not forget the "No Child Left Behind" scam. Where are our children now...sitting in schools who are millions of dollars in defecit because they instituted programs to help children keep there grades up. And they recieve no more money for these programs. Why? Because all of that money is going towards the war...
I've probably rambled on too much...and i apologize if some of this is repeated between this post and joe's but this is important. people need to understand, life is not that simple...life is complex. as joe so eloquently put it: we need to step the fuck up. We need to take control. The next four years will be a great struggle that we must endure, but when that has come to a close it is time to start a new...by then, though, it may be too late... |
